Weekend Get-Away | Ruidoso
Wednesday, July 13, 2016Happy Wednesday Ya'll! I'm still rubbing my eyes from such a fun weekend.
We were invited to one of our friends cabin in Ruidoso, NM to basically just hang out and have a good time. We literally are all such good friends. I can honestly say Dani is my best friend. Brandon and Aaron are in a subtle bro-mance and Noah loves Eli & Paige so much. Then, there's Sky and Oli, the couple who I'm crossing my fingers one day end up together. They are so cute! I can't even imagine how much fun it would be to call them our family. Anyway, I don't wanna jinx it.
We ate. We played. We explored. We ate. We played. Had heart to hearts. And then ate again.
The weather was just absolutely incredible. So the outdoors is were we mostly spent our time. Sunday, we had breakfast at Lincoln County Grill . I think we all had the Chicken Friend Steak breakfast and it was delicious! After, Dani and I shopped for a bit at the cutest kids boutique Klassy Kids , where I purchased Skylar a Baltic Amber teething necklace. People swear by these things. After that we headed to the river and then some pony rides. Somehow Eli always ends up naked. The dude's awesome!
Here is Exhibit A of the baby lovin. Oli just wanted to love on Sky. And Skylar actually wasn't complaining.
Theirs a good picture of Naoh's chipped teeth. This happened when he was little and decided to ride his four wheeler off a step onto tile. He was so sad, it just broke my heart.
We had dinner at Anaheim Jacks and something about how neat and non messy the burger was gave my OCDness satisfaction. It was also very yummy. They had the "Build Your Own" Burger option so I was obviously very excited.
Then here's Brandon being a baby whisperer. Oh, this man, I love him.
Sunday came too soon but it was here. Our last day. We cleaned the cabin and headed out to lunch. We went to the world famous Can't Stop Smokin'. We can never go to Ruidoso and not make a stop. Brandon and I like BBQ so much! I mean, we had it at our wedding. This place has unreal food. Can't get enough. Yum Yum! We ordered a drink but hadn't noticed they did not have any options that were not coke, so we decided on Orange Crush. Now we stopped drinking cokes about the time that Skylar was born. So this was a real treat! Especially for Noah because he is not allowed to drink coke. Well after just a few sips, he instantly became hyper. He was talking all kinds of jibber jabber and acting like a maniac. It was just hilarious to look at him. He kept saying, "More bubbles mommy." It was hilarious!
We had such a great mini vacation. We absolutely needed it. We can get so caught up with life and work that we forget to stop and look at all of Gods beauty and creation around us. It was a great time and I hope we can do that again soon. Hope your week finishes strong.
