oh, this life of mine, its wild!
W I L D I tell you.

but oh so blessed.
as I reflected on this past year, I can't stand but to come to my knees and thank God. there is so much good. so much blessing.
many changes took place, but the good kind. some I thought I would not be able to handle and some that I though, what was I, or we, thinking? but His grace is enough.

I have been feeling personally challenged in many areas of my life.
and like any other mom, I'm just trying to figure it all out.

I have reached a state of contentment and comfort that I thought I could really never reach, I'm just happy. Overly happy in my marriage. I'm happy with my kids development and improvement. I'm happy with our home. I'm happy with family. I'm happy at work. I'm just happy with things. and just when I thought I could relax and enjoy in my current state, God walked in.

for my whole life, I knew our family was different. my parents always opened our minds to greater things and didn't let us settle for less. they showed us that anything is possible and that nothing is out of our reach. and if it was, we just had to work hard, to get there.
now that I am older and can do whatever the heck I want, I still follow the same lifestyle that I was taught since birth. from the, "your not allowed to have sweets or cokes before noon, any day," to the "you never walk on tile with bare feet." just things that stick with you forever, ya know?

talking to Brandon one day on the way to get the kids from daycare, I told him about the challenges I was facing. (he's such a great listener, I've got such a great friend in him.) and he said he had been feeling the same things.
I feel like there is more to my life, our life. I am happy with my life, but I feel like I am meant for more. and its not just some little thought in my head. I've felt obligated to do more. not in a bad way, but in a way to strive. I feel like there is so much out there and so many opportunities that I am not utilizing and I take for granted everyday. I have so many talents but get bored of them so quickly that I don't give them chance.
I have began many things and not finished them, simply because I have lost interest. I guess because I know its not enough. Its not enough to just pass time.

Brandon and I dream a lot. and let me tell you, we dream big! we have thought up business plans, we have thought up building a home, we have thought up the future and taking care of our parents and our kids in a way that nothing would be out of reach to them. after all, that is the Kingdom right? leaving them in a state that they will, in great ways out do us and do the things we never could.

we have the degress, so what is stopping us? money? Brandon has found that. time? there is time. motivation? we have plenty. employees? that's why we're having kids. *haha. im just kidding, I just had to put that in there.

we are business minded people. so business it is. franchise? retail? dining & entertainment? marketing? who knows what He has in store for us. but I know its something H U G E!

BESIDES THAT..
the BLOG. I have decided to re-launch the blog. I had been keeping the blog more private to friends and family. but I feel challenged to take it farther. I really have enjoyed blogging and creating content for you all, but I feel like there is so much more that I am missing out on and want to do. I want to be more creative and more active with my blog. I'm thankful for the faithful readers I have, but want to reach out. we have been getting so many views in the past posts that my mind is blown away! you will see a bit of change of content as well topics and I hope you enjoy.

FILM. Brandon recently recovered my old files from my laptop and I couldn't be more thrilled. I got to relive through videos of Noahs's birth, his first haircut, his first word, concerts, etc. I was so happy to have those again and it made me realize how much I have not filmed in the past 2 years. these babies are growing fast and I want to hold the memories forever. so, I have decided to film more. of the kids, Brandon and myself, even just thoughts here and there. and.. maybe combine all videos in a months time and post it to the blog. I will let you know if that is something I decide to do.

I don't know what is to come. but I do know that its coming. so whatever it is, I am preparing.
I know that we need to be strong, and first of all, spiritually strong none the less.
so for now, we pray.

mama confessions

Wednesday, February 08, 2017

this post is brought to you by the mama that just cannot seem to get enough sleep.
even if I just woke up from a 9pm-7am night.
having to eat something the second I wake up, and then puking (TMI, I know) 2 mins later.
I'm hanging in there.
one: we have been wearing the same clothes over and over this week. I have literally not done one load of laundry in 2 weeks. I'm down to leggings and tees.

two: I'm annoyingly clingy. all day, everyday.. I just want to cuddle with Brandon. just me, its me time! it's M E time kids!
Brandon said he will take advantage of it for now, he knows the prego pillow will be back out soon.

three: I've had a banana and waffles for breakfast for about 2 weeks straight. seems to be the only thing I can keep down in the mornings.
**prego tip - a banana tastes the same way going down AND going up. (this is very important)

four: Im an emotional pregnant wreck. I have cried on every episode of Parenthood I've watched this season. Kristina has breast cancer and I cant keep it together. bawling over here.

five: Noah LOVES to sing. loves it! the Speckled Frogs. OMG! I may send in an audition tape to America's Got Talent. He's a S T A R.

six: I can no longer feed Sky. she wont do it. whatever it is I put in her mouth, whatever it is, she will take it out, look at it for a couple of seconds and then eat it. even if its the same thing the whole meal. I'm convinced those times have passed. big girl.. big girl.

seven: I have not washed a dish in about a month. Brandon is on top of it. on top of everything. is there something this man cannot do? he is perfect, he is keeping us together at the moment and may I say, he is doing a great job. what did I do to deserve a man like him?

eight: I have not woken up even one time to tend to Sky when she needs something between 9pm-7am. Brandon does it every time to let me sleep and get rest. again.. WHAT DID I DO?
see number seven

nine: the five extra minutes it takes me to wash my face and brush my teeth before bed feels like going on a mile run.
why is this so annoying?
because I want to go to sleep right N O W is why.

ten; I'm so cold all the time. like all the time! I sit on a heating pad all day at work. then when I get back pain, I just move it up. game changer forever. not ashamed.

eleven: I'm so in love with my short hair. I literally do it one day and wont even touch it in 3 days. it stays cute.
who knew? score a thousand for mom.

twelve: I'm so tired I haven't went in to get my nails done. if you know me, you know that's a big deal. I've been putting it off for 3 weeks already. my nails are half gel, have grown out. ew. what is happening to me?
thirteen: Noah got the KidKraft Kitchen for Christmas along with real metal pots and pans. let me tell ya, when they start bangin those around, I often have a mini heart attack until I figure out what that sound is. HEART ATTACK!

fourteen: I bought Sky baby Uggs for this winter and they are like 2 whole sizes small. what was I thinking? I guess we can just save em for the next baby. thank goodness they are gender neutral.

fifteen: all I want to listen to is worship, all day. idk what it is. any other kind of music disgusts me right now. weird. my sister hooked up my playlist and I don't get bored of it. thanks sis.

motherhood is F U L L of manic moments, ya know?

one. FIRE ACADEMY
brandon graduated from fire academy early december. he had been working toward this for months and he did it. i'm so very proud of him and his achievements.
two. CHRISTMAS
this was the first year Noah actually understood the meaning of Santa and how he's a worker of Jesus, and because how it's Jesus' birthday, he sends Santa to deliver gifts to all the boys and girl that have been good because He's a giver. He would rather give than to receive because he loves everyone. I worked out pretty good and Noah was so excited. of course. this year was so much fun, there was so much to do and so many people to see. it was busy, but nonetheless, great.
three. NEW YEAR
we were lucky enough to have everyone together, great food, and a jon jon. we basically ate until we couldn't walk, played spoons and got crazy with it and then lounged on the couch watching the game. when kids went to bed, Brandon and I brought in the new year with friends and snoop dog. lol
four. WALKING -
the little baby that I feel like I just pushed out is walking. so independently, at 9 months, she walks like she's been doing it for 9 months. we're so excited!

five. BABY
we're having a baby and it was so much fun telling people the exciting news over the holidays. we're so blessed to be able to bring another little joy to this world.

baby 3

the secret is out!

and it's a B A B Y.

just as most of our big life changing decisions are made, we talked about baby #3 in our kitchen, in the craziness of making fajitas while the kids banged toys together in the playroom.
in the beautiful chaos.

we decided. we planned. and we did it.
I had taken good care of my body after I stopped nursing Skylar as we knew we wanted to have baby #3 very soon. I am actually very against birth control and all it can do to a women's body, not to mention hormones and emotions. so I believe because we didn't do that, we had no trouble getting pregnant this go.
we planned to "stop preventing" pregnancy in November because I so badly wanted an August baby. well, here we are.
*sidenote - I planned for August B U T didn't think about the fact that I never make it to 40 weeks in my pregnancies. I go into natural labor between 37-38 weeks. so it'll most likely be a July baby, which is still fine. I just want a summer birthday party baby. (pool party, holla!)

we couldn't wait to take a test.. we literally counted the days. we were patient and to see that little cross show up, faintly the first time and significantly the next, lifted us so high. we did it.

we decided to keep it all under wraps until Christmas, and announce it then. we had ideas for fun ways to announce it. well I don't know what is going on, but my belly started popping in no time. it was getting harder and harder to hide. especially because we are so close to both sides of our family and we seriously cannot stay away from each other.
the night before an Albuquerque trip, Sky was in and out of sleep and Brandon couldn't sleep, so he started brainstorming how we would spill the news the next day.
he wrote a poem..

At Christmas time we look to family
To give us joy and wonderful memory
We give many gifts
out of kindness and love
And treasure each other
as a true gift from God.
Many things beautifully wrapped
bought from a store and lie on the floor.
But the greatest gift of all
is not wrapped under the tree
But lies within Vanessa,
Baby number 3.

now we had to find out how to tell my family. we decided on the extra stocking on Christmas morning since everyone was coming over for presents. well, that didn't go either. Christmas Eve, I literally tried on 7 outfits and couldn't hide it. unless I wore a hoodie to dinner, this bump was out. so Brandon spilled the news in a prayer before dinner. S U R P R I S E!

so here we are.. 13 weeks in.
my belly is out and in charge.
about half of the people that know, thought we were having twins.
wouldn't that be funny?
*scared face
we aren't. we've got O N E healthy baby that is very active by the way. he/she was dancing around in the womb for us during our ultrasound. we were so surprised to see the baby wiggle all around so early in pregnancy.

monthly updates coming soon.
