In true celebration of our adrenaline junkie, Lucas' first birthday party was one for the books. The day has come, our baby boy is 1 year old now and not so much a baby.
I planned this one for about 4 months, can you believe it? And it all came and went in a blink of an eye.
My real vision for this party was tons of color and fun for the kids.
I begged Brandon for a water slide and we decided on this one for the party. Not gonna lie, I spent some time in it and loved it.
All in all, it was such a fun time. We missed our beloved family from out of town, but they were so sweet to send gifts despite the miles. This boy sure is loved and you can tell!
These balloons, my goodness! I love the way they came out.
Brandon is such a good sport about all my "wants" for our events. He basically did this whole thing! I just told him where and in what order. Behind every great party is a husband that put up with it. Mine just happens to be so helpful and makes it his mission for my vision to come to pass.
I flooded our kitchen with sprinkles making this cake.
This poor little smash cake was melting at the speed of light the day of the party. It was over 100 degrees and my fondant didn't hold up. I made Lucas' smash cake a funfetti cake to be super moist so he could actually really enjoy it.
Since this is going to be the last first birthday that we ever throw, I wanted to have an epic smash cake experience. And Lucas made all my dreams come true! Thanks Lou, for loving cake like the rest of us!
I was super excited for this milestones board. I know its intended for more simple things like measurements, number of teeth, first words, etc. But who really cares how much your baby weighs? I decided to add things about his personality and what made him special. Kim did a great job at making everything fit flawlessly. Absolutely recommend her!

We usually go to church on Saturday afternoons for the live service, but we had Lucas' baby dedication Sunday, so we decided to make a day of it in Southlake.
8am | bed hair
Brandon woke up early to work on the yard when Lucas woke. He let me sleep in and set Lucas up to watch TV with a bottle and some toys. Then I woke up to this little handsome in bed. What more is there?
9am | real life
As we were loading up to go to church, this happened. No one was hurt, but it sure sucked! That was fun. I'm sure we will be finding glass in our garage when we move out in 5 years.
10am | church
Beautiful message from Greg Laurie from Harvest America. He sure can crack some jokes.
11am | cheesecake factory
A perfect day to sit out on the porch and enjoy yummies with our family.
12pm | chicken salad sandwhich
You have to try it. It's got the perfect amount of crunch. Delicious!
And Lucas wants to recline every seat to ever exist when eating.
1pm | he's hot
He's so spicy and I cant keep my eyes off of him. He's even hotter when holding a babe.
2pm | dedication
We dedicated Lucas to the Lord, as we have all of our children. It's so amazing to know that He loves Lucas more than we do. Goodness, that's a lot!
3pm | monkey-ing around
4pm | breather
I fell asleep in the car on the way home and so did Sky. My plan: Put all 3 kids down and nap. Reality: Awake and needy kids and a moody mom.
5pm | mow
I finally put Lucas down and the big kids played outside, so this was my view from the recliner. The nap still didn't happen though.
6pm | committed
Well we're in this, so lets just finish strong. Brandon cleaned out the zillion pieces of glass from the garage and finished up the yard. The kids helped by sipping lemonade and touching everything they were told not to.
7pm | happy mail
Found this gem in the mail all folded up. Have more respect for Joanna Gaines mailman!
8pm | chorizo
Ive been obsessed with chorizo lately. Yum!
9pm | online shopping
Placing an order for vacation outfits has been on my to-do list for a week. How did not having time for shopping happen to me? Crisis here!
10pm | the Word
I've been feeling so challenged to get more into the word lately. Brandon has been killing it and he's been pushing me to read more. Does he get any more perfect? PS. The Message version is basically the best ever!
11pm | glamourous
That's my super glamourous life yall. Babes and exhaustion. Its a season, I know that. Enjoying the road is the challenge.
The house is silent, and all I can do is thank my Father for this abundant life.
